Overview

Radar will (over time) be replacing the Commander Dashboard application. Radar supports responsive design and have mobile first design principals with support for Android and iOS.

Key Features

Radar launches with the following native widgets: Single value (portrait and landscape), Graphs (line and bar), Maps, and Data grid. The intention is to rapidly reach parity with the Dashboard application and to migrate all users onto Radar. See the Radar Entity for more on the creation of the view entity (not design).

Another key design element included with Radar is a View Panel that allow widgets to be grouped together logically, which is especially relevant when different screen sizes are used to view the dashboards. Radar View Panels can be designed as a separate entity so that, for consistency, the view panel can be reused on multiple views.

Additionally, Radar also provides the ability to simply create a Radar Alarm View where all the user needs to do is select for which regions or groups in the solution the alarms need to be visualised within Design Studio, and then the view automatically populates a summary of alarm details which can then be viewed in Radar.

Radar is available as a mobile application, initially as an Android app with iOS following soon.

Themes

With Radar themes we have taken a new approach with theming. By default, a light and dark theme is made available, and users can select a theme from the list of available themes.

The Tenant owner will be able to set the default light and dark themes and make it available to all accounts on the tenant. The Accounts owners in turn can create new themes for their account or start by making a copy of the default themes and customize it. Account owners can set the default theme for the account which will then be applied to all account users. Users can change their theme using the User profile menu to edit and selecting any of the themes made available by the Account owner.

A theme can be disabled while it is being designed to ensure it is not available to the other users. The account owner can enable the theme and make it available to all users when they are done designing the theme.

NOTE
Radar themes will be applied to Radar only. Dashboard themes are still be controlled separately using the old theming function in Portal.
